“I work in a City law firm and, four years ago, a group of us wanted to explore together God's 'heart' for the workplace. We also wanted to find a better way to make a difference, as Christians, in and through our work.

We felt we needed a simple tool to help us. We knew we needed to be open with each other, and to the wisdom that comes from others who really understand the dynamics of our kind of work.

We were members of Bible studies and home groups in other contexts. But we wanted to meet with those who understood the specific challenges we faced at work, and who could help us be effective followers of Christ in the process.

The Band concept emerged among us. Today there are a number of people in a variety of different workplaces using the idea, finding it helpful and discovering that God is working through them.

May God give you wisdom as you seek his will for your place of work.”

James Featherby

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Hebrews 10.24-25
